COHORT Innovation Space, led by Economic Development Queensland and Lumina Gold Coast has been crowned the Rider Levett Bucknall Queensland State Development of the Year for 2021, as part of the Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards program.
Managed by CoSpaces team, COHORT , has rapidly become a launchpad for health and technology start-ups, creatives, innovators, new businesses, entrepreneurs and mentors. The 2500m2 space includes 46 coworking desks, 10 private offices with a further 35 desks, 930m2 of space to let as private tenancies, 3 meeting rooms, 2 boardrooms, a 150-person event space, podcast room and webinar studio. Cohort has everything that a start-up or small business needs to succeed.
Housed in what was the GC2018 athletes’ village, COHORT has quickly become an exemplar innovation space, going beyond traditional co-working spaces due to its proactive and highly curated community management model. COHORT has already accommodated 160+ digital health professionals and start-up innovators that benefit from being co-located with founding partners and collaborators like Griffith Innovation Centre, Gold Coast University Hospital’s Digital Engagement Team, Institute of Glycomics and not-for-profit AI start-up IntelliHQ.
Since opening in May 2019, COHORT has been expanded twice to meet growing demand and is now one of the largest innovation spaces in Queensland, connecting entrepreneurs, start-ups and industry leaders under one roof.
